Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I get started?
Reaching out is the first step. Contact our office by phone, email, or through our website, and we'll help guide you from there.

How soon can I schedule an appointment?
Appointment availability varies. We often have telehealth appointments available sooner and will do our best to connect you with services as quickly as possible.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. Many of our services are available through secure telehealth appointments. If you prefer not to attend sessions from home, we also offer a private space in our office where you can participate in telehealth appointments comfortably and confidentially.

What if I need help completing intake paperwork?
Our Intake Navigator is available to assist with the intake process and answer questions along the way. We’re happy to help make getting started feel as simple and comfortable as possible.

Do I need a referral?
Most clients do not need a referral to begin services. If you plan to use insurance, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm whether a referral is required under your plan.

Therapy Services

Who do you work with?
We provide therapy services for children (6+), teens, adults, couples, and families.

What concerns do you help with?
Our clinicians work with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, emotional regulation, ADHD, and more.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Finding the right fit is important. Our team can help connect you with a clinician whose experience, approach, and areas of focus align with your needs and goals. The information you provide during the intake process can help guide those recommendations.

How long are therapy sessions?
Most therapy sessions are approximately 45–60 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your needs and treatment plan.

What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?
It’s normal to have questions or feel uncertain about reaching out. We’re happy to discuss your concerns and help you determine whether therapy or another service may be a good fit.

Assessments

Do you provide Diagnostic Assessments?
Yes. Our clinicians provide Diagnostic Assessments to help clarify concerns, support diagnosis, and guide treatment recommendations. These evaluations help us better understand an individual's symptoms, strengths, and needs while identifying appropriate next steps in care.

Do you provide Rule 25 or chemical health assessments?
No. GroupWorks does not provide Rule 25 (Comprehensive Substance Use Assessments) or other chemical health assessments. If you are seeking these services, please contact our office and we can help direct you to appropriate local resources.

How do I know if an assessment would be helpful?
Assessments can provide valuable information when seeking diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, or a better understanding of specific concerns. They can also help provide direction when you're looking for answers or feeling unsure about where to begin.

How long does an assessment take?
Every assessment is different. Many assessments can be completed within one to four appointments, although the timeline may vary depending on your individual situation and needs. Your clinician will review the process with you and answer any questions along the way.

What can I expect during an assessment?
The assessment process varies depending on the concerns being addressed. Your clinician will discuss the purpose of the assessment, what information will be gathered, and any recommendations for next steps.

Self-Regulation Training

What is Self-Regulation Training?
Self-Regulation Training uses supportive approaches designed to strengthen focus, attention, emotional regulation, and overall nervous system balance.

Who may benefit from Self-Regulation Training?
Individuals seeking support with focus, stress management, emotional regulation, attention, or overall wellbeing may find these services beneficial.

How is Self-Regulation Training different from therapy?
While therapy focuses on thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences, Self-Regulation Training focuses on building awareness and skills that support focus, regulation, and nervous system balance. These services can often complement one another.

Possibly. We occasionally make our wellness space available for classes, workshops, and gatherings that align with the mission and values of GroupWorks. Contact us to learn more.

The wellness gym floor is maintained as a shoes-off environment to help preserve the flooring and create a comfortable space for participants. Individuals using the gym floor are asked to remove their shoes and participate barefoot or in socks.

At this time, our wellness classes are designed for adults. Please check back for future offerings, as classes and programming may change over time.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We participate with many major insurance plans, including Medicaid. Because insurance networks and benefits can vary, we recommend contacting our office or your insurance provider to verify coverage and participation.

What if I do not have insurance?
Individuals without insurance are encouraged to contact our office to discuss available options and resources.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, and major credit and debit cards.

Will I know my financial responsibility before my appointment?
We make every effort to provide information regarding copays, deductibles, and other known patient responsibilities. Because insurance benefits are determined by your insurance carrier and may change, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to verify coverage, benefits, and any expected out-of-pocket costs.
